The lab is very happy to welcome six new members as of this month!
Christine Albrecht is joining us as a postdoctoral researcher from Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf. There, she worked on the representation of feedback and error processing in EEG and to a lesser extent fMRI, with a focus on influences of expectation. This is something that she, together with Jonas, wants to integrate into auditory cognition research in the next months. She is exploring questions such as: How do expectations about the world around us and the precision of these expectations shape auditory perception and learning about auditory signals?
Also new in the lab is our PhD student Marleen Dittrich. As part of the DFG-funded COMPANION project, she will be working with Jonas and Malte and our partners at the ENT clinic to investigate the relationship between subjective hearing experiences and objective hearing performance among users of cochlear implants. They’ll be examining in detail the discrepancy between these two aspects during the first six months after CI activation on a neural and behavioral level.
In addition, Jana Rehm, Michelle Pscheor, Melike Demir and Nisali Sadara have started their interships in the lab, contributing to running studies as well as planning and conducting new ones.
